Bodies found floating in Varuna canal

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, Mysuru South Police have found two dead bodies floating in Varuna Canal and have registered cases in this regard.

In the first case, Mysuru South Police have fished out a body of an unidentified youth, which was found floating in the Varuna Canal between Mandakalli and Srinagar on Sept. 15 at about 5 pm.

The deceased is aged between 35 and 40 years, has the name ‘Vasu’ tattooed on his right hand and was wearing a baniyan and shorts. The Police have suspected that the youth may have slipped and drowned in the canal.

In the second case, the South Police have fished out a body of a boy from Varuna Canal.

The deceased youth has been identified as M.P. Harsha (17), a resident of Vidyaranyapuram in city. Police said that Harsha had gone to the canal near Gejjagalli village along with his friends to click photos where he slipped and fell into the canal and drowned. 

A case has been registered at Mysuru South Police Station.
