Body of murder victim found in canal

Mysuru: The body of a murder victim, whose hands, legs and neck were tied with a rope, was found floating in the Varuna Canal at Lalithadripura here yesterday afternoon.

The victim said to be between 50 and 55 years and well built, may have been strangled and his legs and hands tied before dumping into the canal.

The public, who noticed the body stuck to weeds in the canal near Lalithadripura Ring Road, informed Mysuru South Rural Police, who rushed to the spot, fished out the body and shifted it to MMC&RI mortuary. The shirt worn by the victim has the label Babu Tailors, T.K. Layout.
