Bogadi villagers demand cancellation of site Khatas

Mysore/Mysuru: Alleging that Khatas of more than 100 sites coming under Bogadi village Survey No. 319 have been done with the help of fake documents, Bogadi village residents staged a demonstration in front of Bogadi Town Panchayat Office here on Thursday.

The protesters urged the authorities to immediately cancel the Khatas of sites as they are illegal.

Addressing the protesters, BJP leader Arun Kumar Gowda said that the Government has allotted only 357 sites in Ashraya Layout coming under Survey No. 319 of Bogadi village. But some influential persons have sold more than 100 sites by creating fake documents and getting illegal Khata, he alleged and urged the authorities to cancel the Khata registration of such sites.

Maintaining that those who bought the sites too have been cheated, Gowda said that the Government should reclaim the illegally sold sites and re-allot them to poor beneficiaries, who are awaiting shelter.

The protesters later presented a memorandum to the Town Panchayat Chief Officer                      Shyamasundar.

Local leaders Dairy Puttegowda, Siddegowda, B.K. Nagaraj, M. Puttegowda, Ravikumar, Raghu, Shankaregowda, Ravichandra, Nagaraj, Naganna and others took part in the protest.
