Book on lifestyle, Alzheimer’s Disease released

Mysore/Mysuru: Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Society of India (ARDSI) in association with Bank Note Paper Mill had organised a book release programme at Prof. Chinnaswamy Setty Conference Hall, Sarada Vilas College of Pharmacy here recently.

Speaking after releasing the book ‘Lifestyle and Alzheimer’s Disease’, Mysore Medical College and Research Institute (MMC&RI) Dean and Director Dr. C.P. Nanjaraj said, “While there is no cure for Alzheimer’s disease, healthy lifestyle including yoga and physical activity might improve quality of life and alleviate the symptoms.”

“Body undergoes many changes with aging. As adults age, some may experience normal age-related changes in memory and thinking. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia,” he observed.

“According to an estimate, over 60 lakh persons in India are suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and there are around 1.50 crore cases worldwide,” he said.

Bank Note Paper Mill Managing Director K.G. Viswanathan, General Manager (F&A) K. Dharani Kumara, General Manager (Tech.) Anant Hegde,  President of Sarada Vilas Educational Institutions Dr. B. M. Subraya, Principal of Sarada  Vilas College of Pharmacy Dr. Hanumanthachar Joshi and  others were present.
