Mysuru: Ananya Books and Paraspara Art Foundation had organised a programme at Mini Theatre in Kalamandira premises here on Saturday to release the book ‘Rangothri’ by G.L. Tripuranthaka. The play ‘The Paying Guest’ was also staged on the occasion. 

Releasing the book, Kannada Book Authority Chairman Dr. Nandish Hanche disclosed that the Authority has constituted a committee headed by H.S. Umesh to come out with a comprehensive literature on professional theatre. 

He opined that the literature would help promote professional theatre. He said the play ‘The Paying Guest’ taken from ‘Rangothri’ depicts the problems and harassment faced by an elderly couple due to the negligence shown by their educated son. He bemoaned that such instances were on the increase today.

Kunduru Mutt Seer Dr. Sharathchandra Swamy, who is also the Assistant Professor in Vedanta Faculty and Co-ordinating Research & Academics Department of Karnataka Sanskrit University, Bengaluru, Theatre artiste H.S. Umesh, Samvahana Publisher D.N. Lokappa and others were present on the occasion.
