Mysore/Mysuru: Boxing team from Mysuru won six medals in Karnataka Mini Olympics-2022 held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru recently.

Medallists are Vibha P. Ravindra (33-35-kg – Girls – Silver Medal), S. Manvik (42-45-kg – Boys – Bronze), R. Mayank (52-55-kg – Boys – Bronze), S. Lanchana (46-49-kg-Girls – Silver), S. Kundavee (52-55-kg – Girls – Bronze) and S. Surya (55-57-kg – Boys – Silver).

The Mini Olympics was organised by Karnataka Olympics Association (KOA) jointly with the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports (DYES), Government of Karnataka, to promote sports in the State.

It is one of the mega sports events held annually with participation of about 5,000 athletes in the U-14 age group competing in 31 disciplines.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr. Bagadi Gautham appreciated the medal-winners for their efforts and interest in sports.

The athletes were coached by Harsha, ASD Fight Club, Kuvempunagar, while Vibha P. Ravindra, studying in Excel Public School, Mysuru, was coached by Sudhakar at SANSKAR Karate Club, V.V. Mohalla, Mysuru.
