Boy drowns in River Kapila

He was supposed to go for tuition but went for swimming instead

In a tragic incident, a 13-year-old boy, who left home saying that he was going to tuition but went for swimming instead, met his watery grave in River Kapila here yesterday afternoon.

The deceased boy has been identified as Ravikumar, son of M. Mahesh and a resident of Police Quarters here. He was studying in eighth standard at Citizen School in the Temple Town. It is reported that at about 3 pm yesterday, Ravikumar left his house along with his friends saying that he was going to tuition but went for swimming in River Kapila where he was caught in the whirlpool and drowned, according to eyewitnesses who informed the Police.

His body was fished out an hour later. SI Veerabhadrappa, who has registered a case, is investigating.
