Boy loses vision as classmate hits him over trivial reason

Mysuru: An 8th Standard boy has lost his vision when he was allegedly hit on the eye by his classmate over trivial reason here yesterday morning.

The boy, who lost his vision, has been identified as Yashwanth Kumar, son of Yogesh, serving as a Garuda vehicle driver at Metagalli Police Station here and studying at a school in Vijayanagar.

Yesterday, Yashwanth was on his way for the morning assembly at the school, when he was stopped by his classmate Shekar, who asked him to wait for him. But, Yashwanth refused to wait saying that it was late for the assembly which irked Shekar, who allegedly hit Yashwanth on his right eye resulting in serious injuries.

Soon, the teachers and the school management rushed Yashwanth to JSS Hospital and admitted him besides informing his parents.

The doctors, who examined Yashwanth reportedly said that the injury was severe and cannot tell about Yashwanth regaining vision as of now.

Meanwhile, the school authorities speaking to SOM said that it is true that a boy has been severely injured on his eye when his classmate hit him and added that the injured boy has been admitted to JSS Hospital.

Vijayanagar Inspector Anil Kumar said that neither the parents of Yashwanth nor the school management have registered any complaint besides stating that no memo pertaining to the Medico Legal Case (MLC) from the hospital where the boy is being treated was received.
