BPL cards must be linked with e-KYC before Aug. 31

August 23, 2024

The Government has made it mandatory for BPL (Below Poverty Line) card holders to link with e-KYC (Know Your Customer), an Aadhaar-based fingerprint linking initiative, with their cards. The District Administration has set Aug.31 deadline for e-KYC linking of BPL cards. The district has already completed  96.89 percent of e-KYC linking and  the rest have been asked to ensure e-KYC linking within Aug.31. The list of those card holders whose e-KYC linking has still been pending has been put up in the notice board of the respective Fair Price Shops.

Names of BPL card holders who do not link e-KYC by Aug.31 will be deleted from the list and  will become ineligible for getting ration. Also people who have got BPL cards by making false submissions should immediately return their cards at the nearest Taluk Office or the Office of the Food Inspector, according to a press release.
