Brahmana Yuva Vedike distributes Vontikoppal ‘Panchanga’

 Former MUDA Chairman and Vontikoppal Venkataramanaswamy Temple President K.R. Mohan Kumar is seen distributing Panchanga to a resident as social worker Raghuram Vajpayee, Ajay Shastri and others look on.

Mysuru:  Welcoming the Hindu New year on ‘Ugadi’ and to create an awareness on the importance of ‘Panchanga’ (Almanac), members of Mysuru District Brahmana Yuva Vedike distributed copies of the popular Vontikoppal ‘Panchanga’ among residents in Krishnamurthypuram, Chamarajapuram and Jayanagar here yesterday. About 500 copies were distributed.

Launching the distribution drive,  former MUDA Chairman K.R. Mohan Kumar, who is the President of Vontikoppal Venkataramanaswamy Temple opined that Ugadi symbolises a mixture of happiness and sadness which is observed by eating a mixture of neem leaves and jaggery. He added that the ‘Panchanga’ was a good reckoner to judge the appropriate time to perform a rituals.
