Mysore/Mysuru: Lokayukta Police have caught a Village Accountant (VA) red handed while accepting bribe from former Gram Panchayat Vice-President to provide Caste and Income Certificates.
Nagaraju, the VA of Haraganahalli region in Nanjangud taluk is the one who was caught red handed by the Lokayukta Police. Nagaraju had demanded Rs. 3,000 from Haraganahalli Gram Panchayat former Vice-President Udaya Ravi to provide the certificates and was caught red handed while accepting Rs. 1,500 at his office.
Nagaraju was brought to the Lokayukta SP Office in city, where the Police conducted an enquiry and registered a case. He was later produced before the Magistrate yesterday night, who remanded him to judicial custody.
Lokayukta SP Suresh Babu and Dy.SP Krishnappa guided Inspectors Lokesh and Roopashree and staff Gopi, Prakash, Niveditha and Ramesh in the operation.
