Mysore/Mysuru: A woman Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) who was recently caught red handed while accepting bribe by Lokayukta Police has been kept under suspension.
Radha, PSI of Kuvempunagar Police Station was trapped by Lokayukta sleuths at her chamber in the Police Station on May 30, when she was accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a realtor to release the properties belonging to him.
Following her trap, the anti-ombudsman personnel had arrested her, besides producing her before a Magistrate at the latter’s house and had been remanded to judicial custody. As she is behind bars for a period exceeding more than 48 hours, following her arrest, City Police Commissioner B. Ramesh has issued the suspension order.
Meanwhile, Radha’s advocate has moved a bail application at a Court here, but the Lokayukta Police have sought sometime to file objection, it is said.
Mysuru District Lokayukta SP V.J. Sajeeth had also written a letter to the Central Office of Lokayukta in Bengaluru, recommending for her suspension from the service. Accordingly, the Lokayukta top brass had issued directions to City Police Commissioner in this regard.
Radha, who is behind bars since her arrest on May 30 will have to move High Court, if the Mysuru Court rejects her bail plea.
