Brindavan Gardens to be developed like Disneyland: CM H.D. Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru:  Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has announced in his budget that the Brindavan Gardens at KRS in Mandya will be developed on the lines of Disneyland in the US. World’s leading entertainment park engineers and investors will be invited to beautify KRS. An initial fund of Rs. 5 crore will be allotted for this project, the CM said.

Mysuru will get an IC (Integrated Circuit) Chip manufacturing company that will produce chips that are used in mobile phones. “At present Taiwan is a world leader in IC Chip manufacturing and we want to set up the manufacturing unit in Mysuru so that we too can contribute to the world’s most advanced information technology,” Kumaraswamy said.

Three frozen semen distribution centres in Mysuru, Dharwad and Kalaburagi will be established at a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore and Mandya Institute of Medical Sciences will be upgraded to an 800-bed hospital at Rs. 30 cr.

Mysuru will also get silk cocoon marketing units and Rs. 3 crore has been allotted for the purpose.

The CM has made special allocation for the development of Gaganachukki and Bharachukki in Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts and Rs. 5 crore has been sanctioned.

The CM also announced Rs. 50 crore special package for the all-round development of Mandya city.

The government has decided to implement Mekedatu Drinking Water Project and an action plan will be prepared soon, Kumaraswamy said. Once operational, the project will be an additional facility to supply Cauvery water to Ramanagaram and Bengaluru, he said.
