BSNL employees stage protest, seek fulfilment of demands

Mysore/Mysuru: Employees of Public Sector BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited), under the banner of All Union and Associations of BSNL (AUAB), staged a demonstration in front of the BSNL Office in Jayalakshmipuram here on Thursday, seeking fulfilment of their various demands, which chiefly included payment of salary on time.

The demands included immediate launch of BSNL 4G service, settlement of Rs. 39,000 crore dues to BSNL by the Department of Telecom, stopping monetisation of BSNL Towers/ optical fibre, strengthening of Transmission and Maintenance, improvement in quality of FTTH services, payment of salary on time and settlement of 3rd wage commission/ pension revision, among others.

The protesting employees also sought to draw the attention of the Government for implementation of  BSNL revival package, payment of benefits under announced VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme), infusion of Capital, allotment of 4G spectrum at subsidised rate etc.,

AUAB office-bearers Nagendra, K. Puttaswamy, R. Ganesh, Sharath Kumar, Ravishankar and others took part in the protest.
