Buddha Super Team, Chamundi Girls Team emerge champions

18th Isha Gramotsavam – 2026

Mysuru: The Karnataka Divisional Matches of the 18th edition of Isha Gramotsavam – 2026, organised by Isha Outreach, were held at Jagadish Prasad Stadium in Jayalakshmipuram here yesterday.

A total of 20 men’s volleyball teams and 12 women’s throwball teams, took part in the tournament with an ambition to represent Karnataka at the National finals.

In the men’s volleyball tournament, Buddha Super Team from Rampura in Chamarajanagar emerged as the Divisional Champions. Chamundi Boys Team from Kadakola, Mysuru finished as the runners-up after an impressive campaign. Appu Boys Team from Mastenahalli, Chikkaballapura, secured the third position, while MRJ Brothers from Marjenahalli, Kolar finished fourth.

In the women’s throwball competition, Chamundi Girls Team from Hedathale, Nanjangud emerged as the Divisional Champions. CSA Team from Baliganahalli, Chikkaballapura, finished as  runners-up, while Kodachadri Team from M. Guddekoppa, Shivamogga and Jai Shree Ram Team from Chikkanerale, Bettadapura claimed the third and fourth positions, respectively.

The winning teams in both volleyball and throwball were awarded a cash prize of Rs.15,000 each, while the runner-up teams received Rs.10,000. The third and fourth-placed teams were awarded Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 4,000, respectively. The winners of divisional round will get an opportunity to compete in the grand finale to be held from September 4 to 6 at Isha Yoga Centre, Coimbatore.

The winning teams of the grand finale will receive Rs. 5 lakh each, while the runner-up teams will receive Rs. 3 lakh. The third and fourth-placed teams will receive Rs.1 lakh and Rs. 50,000, respectively.

Earlier, the divisional matches were inaugurated in the presence Chamaraja MLA K. Harishgowda, Khelo India Executive Director Amar Jyothi, Folk Singer Amma Ramachandra and Tibetan Monk Nawang Llama. During the valedictory, the prizes to winners were distributed by former Indian Cricketer and ICC Match Referee Javagal Srinath and Chess Grandmaster M.S. Thejkumar.
