Napoklu (Kodagu): A budding hockey player was killed in a head-on collision between his bike and a jeep on Kakkabe-Nelaji junction last evening. The deceased is Dilan (24), son of Sweeta Pemmaiah and Kakkabe Gram Panchayat former President Pramila Pemmaiah.
Yesterday evening, Dilan was proceeding on his bike (KA-12-U-2172) from Nelaji towards Kakkabe, when a jeep coming from Kakkabe towards Nelaji collided head-on with the bike resulting in Dilan sustaining serious injuries. Though Dilan was being rushed to a hospital in Napoklu, he succumbed to injuries mid way.
Napoklu Police, who have registered a case, are investigating.
