Mysuru: The Budget for 2019-20 of City Central Library Authority (CCLA) was presented recently at the Old Council Hall of MCC here which was chaired by Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath.
Presenting the Budget, Ex-officio Secretary of CCLA and Department of Public Libraries Deputy Director B. Manjunath said that a revenue of Rs.3.8 crore was expected with an expenditure of Rs.3.7 crore.
He further said that library cess of Rs.17 crore was still due from MCC, so also from MUDA which was thwarting the running of the libraries.
Manjunath said that there are 32 library branches in city and added that staff crunch was dogging the Department and regretted that there was no scope to recruit on contract basis. He appealed MCC to provide funds to complete the library construction underway at People’s Park.
