Nanjangud: The Nanjangud Police have cracked a major theft that took place at a residence on Kayi Angadi Street in the town, with the arrest of a burglar.
The Police have recovered gold jewellery, a TV and other valuable articles allegedly stolen by him.
The arrested has been identified as Narasimha, a resident of Vokkalageri in the town. C.N. Rajesh, a resident of Kayi Angadi Street had gone on a pilgrimage to Vaishno Devi Temple recently, when the miscreant broke into his hose and allegedly decamped with 450 grams gold jewellery, a TV and Rs. 50,000 cash. Following a complaint by Rajesh, the Nanjangud Police registered a case and began investigation.
The Police, who found Narasimha moving about in a suspicious manner at Hullahalli Circle in the town on Aug.15, took him into custody. During interrogation, he confessed to have stolen jewellery and pledged it at a pawn brokers shop to buy an auto.
Following his confession, the Police recovered a TV, gold jewellery and the auto he had purchased, from the accused.
The nabbing and recovery operation was conducted by CPI Gopalakrishna and staff.
