Mysuru: Alanahalli Police have arrested two persons on charges of burgling Ramdev Bankers and Jewellers at Chikkahalli on T. Narasipur Main Road and have recovered gold ornaments, silver articles and imitation jewels stolen by them.
The arrested burglars have been identified as 23-year-old Rangaswamy of Kadakola village in the taluk and 19-year-old Shivanna of Talawadi village, Sathyamangala taluk in Erode district in Tamil Nadu.
During interrogation, the accused are said to have confessed of burgling the shop and selling the stolen items to one Saiju Bathery of Sultan Bathery in Kerala.
Based on the information provided by the accused, a team of Alanahalli Police went to Sultan Bathery and traced Saiju’s house and recovered the stolen items. The Police have launched a hunt to trace Saiju who is absconding for buying the stolen items.
DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Gajendra Prasad supervised Alanahalli Inspector K.M. Manju and staff in the nabbing and recovery operation.
