Mysuru: A 25-year-old student, who was said to be depressed, committed suicide by hanging self at his room in VTU College Hostel here yesterday.
The deceased student has been identified as Jayakumar. A native of Raichur, he is the son of City Reserve Police Constable Kumar and was pursuing his final year MBA course at VTU College on the outskirts of city.
It is learnt that Jayakumar, who was suffering from illness, was depressed and yesterday morning, when the inmates of the hostel had left for the college, he committed suicide by hanging self in his room.
Mysuru Rural Police have registered a case in this regard.
