Mysuru: In separate cases, burglars decamped with gold jewellery and cash worth over Rs. 13 lakh from houses at Nanneshwaranagar and Vijayanagar 2nd Stage in city.
In the first case, burglars, who broke into a house in Nanneshwaranagar, decamped with gold jewellery and cash, all valued at Rs. 5.5 lakh from the house. The burglary took place at the house of 47-year-old M.M. Ravi.
On Oct. 3 evening, Ravi left for Megalapura near Yelwal and returned the next day afternoon only to find the door lock broken.
On entering and inspecting the house, Ravi found gold jewellery worth Rs. 1.5 lakh and Rs. 4 lakh cash stolen from the house. He then lodged a Police complaint.
In the second case, burglars, who broke into the house of a software engineer at Vijayanagar 2nd Stage, have decamped with gold jewellery worth Rs. 7.40 lakh, silver articles worth Rs. 6,000 and Rs. 10,000 cash kept in the house.
The burglary took place at the house of 34-year-old Alok Nigam, a native of Lucknow and working at Infosys in city. On Oct. 1, Alok had been to Cochin in Keralam and returned on Oct. 5 only to find his house burgled and lodged a Police complaint.
Vijayanagar Police have registered a case.
