Burglary at doctor’s house in Mysuru Bengaluru CCB Police arrest two

Mysuru: Bengaluru Central Crime Branch (CCB) Police have arrested two persons on charges of committing burglary at a house of a doctor in Vijayanagar here about two-and-a-half months ago. The burglars had decamped with Rs.11 lakh cash and 5-kg gold ornaments from the house.

Based on the clues provided by a gold trader, who had purchased the stolen gold ornaments, the CCB Police, who were investigating a house burglary case at Kempegowda Police limits in Bengaluru, the CCB Police arrested the two burglars, who had burgled the house of the                     doctor in Mysuru.

The CCB Police had kept vigil on the movements of convicts released from jail and were conducting investigation during which they came to know about the house burglary in Mysuru. They then interrogated the gold trader following which the burglars were traced.

The gang of four burglars, said to be native of Tamil Nadu, were allegedly targeting houses located on the outskirts of Mysuru and Bengaluru and loot cash and gold from the houses to lead a lavish life. The Bengaluru CCB Police have launched a hunt to nab two others, who are absconding.

The CCB Police have recovered about 50% value of the 5-kg gold ornaments they had burgled and they had distributed the cash among themselves which they have spent, it is learnt.

The burglary at the doctor’s house had taken place in April and Vijayanagar Police, who had registered a case, were investigating before it was handed over to the Mysuru City Crime Branch (CCB). Mysuru CCB Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) B.R. Lingappa and team had gone up to Kolkata when they received information that Bengaluru CCB Police have arrested two burglars and the team returned.

It may be recalled that the burglars, after breaking open the back door of the house, entered the master bedroom on the first floor and stole 5-kg gold ornaments kept in the locker below the cot and entered another room and stole Rs.11 lakh cash kept in the wardrobe.
