Mysore/Mysuru: Parisara Ulisi Samithi has demanded action against those who were allotted Civic Amenities (CA) sites for service purposes, but misusing them for  commercial gains.

Addressing a press meet in city yesterday, Samithi Convenor Kiran said that this was a big scam where the CA site allottees, throwing away the rules into the air have allotted sites on rent to run schools, colleges, shops and canteens.

Pointing out that, the CA sites have been allotted for a period of 30 years, Kiran urged the authorities concerned to take back the sites after the term ends and allot the same to others, besides urging to ban the renewal system to control corruption.

Stating that even lakes have been encroached upon and buildings have been constructed and rented out, he urged not to allot sites to private parties near lakes and Raja Kaluves. The authorities must allot such sites to Government institutions, instead of allotting them sites elsewhere, which in turn can control encroachments, he said.
