Cable operators asked to pay annual fee to CESC

Mysore/Mysuru: The CESC (Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation), taking note of default by cable service providers in respect of payment of annual fee for drawing cables on electric poles and other CESC equipment,  has asked TV Cable, Internet Cable and other Cable service providers/ agencies to pay up the annual fee to CESC without fail.

In a press release, the CESC said that the cables drawn on electric poles will be removed without any notice, if cable service providers or agencies failed to pay the annual fee within a week.

The release further said that it has come to the CESC notice that cable wires have been drawn unscientifically or erratically on electric poles, which, apart from posing a threat to public safety, also hinders climbing of electric poles by linemen. As  unscientific and erratic drawing of cables are a risk to public safety, especially when monsoon is round the corner and mishaps may happen, the agencies are asked to rectify the same. Else, such cables will be removed without any notice. Also, the concerned agency will be held solely responsible for any mishaps that may occur, the release said.
