Cake-mixing ceremony spreads Christmas cheer at St. Philos

Mysore/Mysuru: St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru, ushered in the festive spirit of Christmas with a vibrant cake-mixing ceremony organised by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at the college campus recently.

Rector Fr. Dr. Lourdu Prasad Joseph appreciated the initiative and called cake-mixing ceremony a joyful beginning to holy Christmas season. He highlighted that the tradition reflects the values of unity, teamwork and celebration within the college community.

C.V. Ranjith, Assistant Professor and Head of Bakery Division, explained the details of the cake-mixing process and outlined the variety and quantity of ingredients used. A grand display of 600-kg of assorted dry fruits, including cashews, almonds, dates, cherries, raisins, ginger peel, orange rind, lemon rind and tutti fruity, decorated the mixing table. These ingredients will be used to prepare over 2,000-kg of Christmas cakes.

The event was attended by Campus Administrator Fr. Gnana Pragasham, Assistant to Rector Fr. David Saghayaraju, St. Philomena’s PU College Principal Sunil D’Souza, PG Studies & Research Centre Coordinator Dr. Noor Mubasheer, Controller of Examinations Dr. Reena Francis, IQAC Coordinator Thomas Gunasheelan, Academic Dean C. Anand, along with faculty members, PG and UG students.
