Mysore/Mysuru: To promote various Government Schemes, the Department of Information and Public Relations has invited applications from street play and Folk Music troupes.

Last date to submit application is July 25. Applications should be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Director, Department of Information and Public Relations, Mysuru.

To facilitate the organisation of street plays / folk music programmes in the year 2025-26 through the subordinate offices at the district-level, three street play troupes and three folk music troupes will be selected from each district.

Each street play troupe must have eight artistes, of which two must be women and one must be SC/ST artiste.

Each folk music troupe must have three artistes, of which one must be a woman and one must be a SC/ST artiste.

A Committee, comprising district-level officers from the Kannada & Culture Department, Social Welfare Department, Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST) Welfare Department, Health & Family Welfare Department and Agriculture Department, has been formed to select the art troupes.

The selection process will be conducted simultaneously in 31 districts across the State on Aug. 12 at 11 am, according to a press release from Department of Information and Public Relations Assistant Director T.K. Harish.
