Captain Abhimanyu in a Flowery Avatar at GRS

35,000 Flowers, 108 Hours and a Tribute in Snow

Mysuru: Mysuru Dasara is synonymous with grandeur, tradition and colour. This year, GRS Snow Park brings these elements together in an extraordinary way, with a life-size floral tribute to Mysuru’s beloved Dasara elephant, Captain Abhimanyu, crafted using 35,000 flowers over 108 hours and displayed amidst real snow.

At the heart of India’s first flower show set inside a snow park stands a majestic sculpture of Captain Abhimanyu, brought to life with thousands of delicate white blooms and accented with deep red roses.

Complete with a golden caparison and a vibrant garland in red, blue and green, the floral elephant stands proudly against the snow-covered landscape, offering a striking new interpretation of one of Mysuru’s most cherished traditions.

The installation is a floral tribute to Abhimanyu, who carried golden howdah during Jumboo Savari. For generations, Dasara elephants have symbolised strength, dignity and cultural pride. At GRS Snow Park, this enduring legacy takes on a unique form, inviting visitors to experience the grandeur of Dasara in an unexpected, wintry setting.

Adding to the glow is a peacock made entirely of lights, spreading its colours across the snow as the evening sets in. Together with the red-flower clock tower and its traditional dhols, it makes for another festive corner that’s made for family photos. For those visiting Mysuru for Dasara festivities, this is an experience worth adding to the itinerary.

Step into GRS Snow Park to discover a Dasara where 35,000 flowers, 108 hours of craftsmanship and the spirit of Captain Abhimanyu come together in a spectacular floral avatar amidst real snow.
