Mysuru: A large number of people had gathered at Maharaja’s College Grounds yesterday afternoon to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was scheduled to arrive in city at 3 pm.
At last, the wait was over for those eyes that kept scanning the sky for the PM’s arrival when the Air Force chopper with PM Modi on board was landing at the temporary helipad at Maharaja’s College Cricket Grounds nearby.
The frenzied crowd clicked pictures to capture their favourite leader land in city.
Air Show-like atmosphere
The Maharaja’s College Ground that was flooded with people and BJP publicity materials, virtually turned into an Air Show venue as three helicopters of Indian Army reached the venue.
The huge gathering started waving at the copters and people took out their cell phones to capture the helicopters making it to the highly guarded ground.
The public captured landing and even cheered Modi. Also, many youths climbed the fence while some parents were seen lifting their children up to help them capture Modi alighting from the chopper.
Modi leaves for Delhi
Prime Minister Modi, after addressing the public rally at Maharaja’s College Grounds, left in a helicopter from the ground to Mysore Airport in Mandakalli at about 5.10 pm from where he left for New Delhi in a special flight.
