Mysuru: JSS Academy of Higher Education and Research (JSS AHE&R) in association with American College of Physicians (ACP), India Chapter, conducted career counselling programme on post-MBBS career options for medical interns at Sri Rajendra Centenary auditorium, JSS Hospital here recently.
Inaugurating the programme, Dr. B. Manjunatha, Registrar, JSS AHE&R mentioned the increasing number of opportunities available for the present generation of medical students and encouraged the students to know more about the opportunities available to them.
Dr. Sarma VSN Rachakonda, Emeritus Professor, RIMS, Andhra Pradesh, who was the resource faculty, elaborated on varied opportunities in India and abroad for a medical graduate and the need to have passion, vision and determination to achieve greater things in life.
Dr. H. Basavana Gowdappa, Principal, JSSMC and Dr. (Col.) M. Dayananda, Director, JSS Hospital, were present. Dr. M. Suresh Babu, Deputy Director and Professor of Medicine, JSS Hospital, in his welcome address spoke on the need of career counselling for medical graduates. Later, an interaction with the students was held.
