Careless Tempo drivers

October 8, 2017

Sir,

After auto drivers, now it is the turn of the tempo drivers who have started parking their vehicles in bus bays and blocking the movement of other vehicles.

Recently one such incident was recorded in Temple Road, V.V. Mohalla, wherein a tempo driver parked his vehicle in a bus bay at the bus stop located opposite V.V. Puram Police Station (see photo).

As a result, the city bus driver stopped his vehicle on the other half of the road, thus blocking the movement of other vehicles. This also caused hardship to the commuters to get into the city bus.

This practice needs to be curtailed. It is agreed that tempo drivers also need to survive by earning, but they should not cause hardship to the commuters by parking in bus bays. They may stop little away from the bus stops and call the passengers to get into their vehicles. Tempo and auto drivers too need to follow all road safety rules.
