As many as 102 teams took part in the day-long 30th Carol singing competition, organised by Carmel Catholic Association at Teresian College auditorium at Siddarthanagar in city. The competition was inaugurated by Bishop of Mysuru Most Rev. Dr. K.A. William in the presence of Parish Priest of city’s Mount Carmel Church Rev. Fr. Shaji Kunnel, Advisor and Superior of Carmel Bhavan Rev. Fr. Roy Pooppilly and others. The valedictory of the contest will be held at 6 pm today. Rector of Pushpashrama Rev. Fr. Dr. John Francis Sequeira will be the chief guest. Brahmachari Atmaniratamrita Chaitanya, disciple of Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi-Amma, Patron and Provincial of St. Paul’s Province, Mysuru, Rev. Fr. Dr. Varghese Kelamparambil and President of Carmel Catholic Association Johnson K. Chalissery will be the guests of honour.
