Caste abuse of CESC EE: Electrical contractor arrested

December 21, 2025

Mysore/Mysuru: An electrical contractor has been arrested on the charges of caste abuse and issuing a threat to the Executive Engineer of Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Ltd.

S.B. Anita, Executive Engineer of CESC, N.R. Mohalla Sub-Division, had lodged a complaint against Sripal, an electrical contractor, at the Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement (DCRE) Police Station, in the city. Following which, the arrest was made.

It is alleged, Sripal was frequenting the office of Anita, only to exert pressure on her to pay heed to his demand to carry out the contract in violation of norms. As Anita remained unheeded, he was picking up a wordy duel with her during office hours and was levelling allegations, indulging in her character assassination. She had lodged a complaint in this regard at Lashkar Police Station on Feb. 21 this year itself.

Sripal, with an intention of avenging the humiliation, was berating her publicly, even in front of her colleagues and others, taking the name of her caste. He was making corruption charges against her, following which Anita had warned him to mend his ways. However, Sripal, who remained adamant, continued to abuse her in office. On Dec. 8, Sripal, who was near a tea shop at Mathrumandali Circle in Vontikoppal, had spoken in a derogatory tone against her. Unable to tolerate insinuating remarks, Anita had complained to DCRE.

Earlier, Sripal had complained to Lokayukta against Anita, accusing the latter of issuing permission for electricity connection to a building without Completion Certificate (CC) and Occupancy Certificate (OC), in violation of Supreme Court order.
