‘Casteism is deep-rooted in Universities’

Madiwala Kshemabhivruddhi Sangha and Kannada Sahitya Parishat together had organised a programme at District Kannada Sahitya Parishat Office near Palace North Gate in city recently  to pay tributes to rebel littérateur Jambanna Amarachinta from Raichur.

Speaking on the occasion littérateur Shyamasundar said that caste actually originated from the type of profession of people in olden days but all of them lived in harmony respecting each other. He regretted that casteism had manifested over the years entering even the intellectual zone of universities and getting deep rooted. He further said that casteism had widened the inequality quotient and people look down upon achievers from lower strata of society. He commended Jambanna Amarachinta  in opposing the evil of casteism and voicing the opinion thorough his works.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dr. Y.D. Rajanna, T. Narasipur Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Rajanna, former District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Littérateurs Ayyappa Hoogar, Parthasarathy, and others were present.
