Prof.Mane advocates need for cleanliness in college campuses

Two-day YUREKA 2K17 fest begins

‘YUREKA 2K 17’, a two-day college fest of Yuvaraja’s College (Autonomous) began at Sri Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar Auditorium (Quadrangle) in Yuvaraja’s College premises this morning.

University of Mysore (UoM) acting Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dayananda Mane inaugurated the event. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mane advocated the need for maintaining cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene in college campuses.

Opining that every department of the college should take up ‘Swachhata drive’ in a bid to keep the college campus clean, he said that apart from a conducive atmosphere for academic learning, it was also important to ensure that the college environs is maintained cleanly.

 

Ajai Misra, Additional PCCF, Bengaluru and Dr. B.G. Sangameshwara, Vice-Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University were the guests of honour.

College Principal Dr. R. Ganesha, Administrative Officer Dr. H.N. Kanthalakshmi, Controller of Examination Dr. B.M. Venkatesha, ‘Jnanavahini’ Committee Convenor Prof. D.K. Srinivasa and others were present.

The two-day event features a host of entertainment programmes, which include Treasure Hunt, Culinary Contests, Talk Show, Kannada Debate, ‘Scientific’ Rangoli etc.
