Cattle-lifter held: One cow worth Rs. 40,000 rescued

Mysuru: Saraswathipuram Police, who had registered a case of cow theft on Sept. 17, have arrested a person on the same day who was walking with a cow in a suspicious manner near Sriranga Samudaya Bhavan in Anand Nagar here. The arrested person has been identified as J.C. Shivaraju of Anand Nagar ‘A’ Block here.

During interrogation, the accused is said to have confessed of stealing the cow at Rajajinagar here following which the Cops rescued the cow worth about Rs. 40,000 from him.

DCP Dr. Vikram V. Amathe and K.R. Sub-Division ACP N.M. Dharmappa supervised Saraswathipuram Inspector N.C. Nagegowda, SI N. Mohan, ASI B.N. Lingaraju, staff Basavaraje Urs, G.S. Kantharaju, H.V. Manjunath and Harish Achar in the nabbing and rescue operation.
