Maddur: Around 100 persons including members of Kasturi Pro-Kannada Organisation and farmers staged a protest at the Maddurammana Kere in Maddur this morning protesting against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu.

They alleged that the State Government had failed to protect the interest of the farmers by releasing water to TN.

On learning about the protest, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Engineer Thamanna arrived at the spot and received a memorandum from the protestors and assured to bring the matter to the notice of higher officials.
