Mysuru: The Carmel Catholic Association (CCA), Mysuru, is organising the CCA PAZZO Inter-School Shuttle Badminton Competition at De Paul International Residential School in Belagola on Sunday (Oct. 27).

This event is open to school students and will feature competitions in four categories:

Std. 5 – 7 Girls, Std. 5 – 7 Boys, Std. 8 -10 Girls, Std. 8 – 10 Boys.

The tournament will be inaugurated at 9 am by the chief guest, V. Eswara Rao, Vice-President, JK Tyres & Industries Ltd., Mysuru Plant.

Over 280 students have registered for so far. There will be no on-the-spot registrations. All participants are required to report at the venue by 8 am.

Fr. Santoy Kurian C.M., Financial Administrator & Campus Superior of DPRS & De Paul College, K.N. Pallavi, International Para Badminton Player and Chapara Poorna Rao, International Para Badminton Player, will be the  guests of honour.

Prof. Joseph Mathew, President, Carmel Catholic Association, will preside.

The valedictory function is scheduled for 5.15 pm. Dr. C. Venkatesh, Chairman and Director, Department of Studies in Physical Education and Sports Science, University of Mysore, will be the chief guest. 

The valedictory address will be delivered by Rev. Fr. Augustin Payampallil CMI, Provincial of St. Paul’s Province, Mysuru and Patron of the Carmel Catholic Association.  Rev. Fr. Sebastian Vettickal CM, Vice Provincial of the Vincentians Southern Indian Province and Rev. Fr. Anish Xavier CM, Principal of De Paul International Residential School, will be the guests of honour.
