CCB Police raid house in Vijayanagar

One arrested, 2-kg and 600 grams ganja seized

Mysuru: City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, who raided a house in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage on Sept. 12, have arrested a man and seized a total of 2-kg and 600 grams of ganja, an electronic weighing machine and a bag from the house.

The arrested has been identified as M.J. Clavin, a resident of Medar Block, behind the Police Station in Periyapatna, who was staying at a rented house in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage in city.

Following a tip off, the CCB Police, after obtaining a search warrant from the CCB Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), raided the house at about 2.40 pm and conducted search in the two rooms on the terrace during which the Cops did not find any narcotic substances.

When they entered the third room, the Police found Clavin and took him into custody. During the search, the CCB Police found a black college bag and on opening the bag, the Cops found two plastic covers containing 1,880 grams and 720 grams of ganja, all worth about Rs. 1,00,400 and seized the narcotic substance.

The Police, who arrested Clavin, have registered a FIR against him and also registered a FIR against one Sharukh alias Abhi (A-2), who had supplied ganja to him. The accused has been remanded to Judicial Custody.
