CCTV camera, DVR stolen

Mysuru: A thief, who broke into an animation academy on the Main Road in Nivedithanagar, has decamped with CCTV camera and Digital Video Recorder (DVR) from the academy on Friday night.

The theft came to light, when the staff opened the gate the next day morning and went inside to open the door only to find it forcibly opened by breaking the lock and immediately informed the academy head.

The academy head, who went through the last footage sent to his mobile phone, saw a man inside the academy office. As he was out of station, the academy head instructed the staff to lodge a complaint at the jurisdictional Saraswathipuram Police Station, but the Police informed the staff that the academy head should come in person.

Meanwhile, a staff informed SOM that thefts had taken place twice in the academy earlier. The first time nothing was stolen and hence no complaint was lodged. But in December, taps and gas pipes were cut and a complaint was lodged, but the Police had not taken the incident seriously, the staff added.
