Celebrations to be simple

March 28, 2021

Birth anniversaries of Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram (Apr. 5) and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar (Apr. 14) will be celebrated in a simple and symbolic manner this year.

Presiding over a preparatory meeting held at Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office on Thursday, DC Rohini Sindhuri said, “As we are witnessing a spike in daily COVID-19 cases in Mysuru due to the second wave of infection, only a maximum of 200 persons will be allowed to attend marriage and other such social functions being held indoors and 500 members for outdoor activities. The State Government has announced new restrictions on public congregation in view of the rising COVID-19 threat. The guidelines will be strictly implemented from today. If administration issues new guidelines for Apr. 5 and Apr. 14, we will follow them accordingly.”

ZP CEO A.M. Yogesh, Joint Director of Social Welfare Department Malathi, MCC Additional Commissioner N.M. Shashikumar and others were present.
