Mysuru: The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) of Mysuru is numero uno among all the electricity supply corporations in the State and sixth in the nation, according to Investment Information Credit Rating Agency (IICRA) ratings released for the year 2015-16.
The survey conducted by the Union Energy Ministry through various expert agencies, audits the electricity supply corporations under various aspects including the power generation and distribution companies across the nation.
During the survey, companies are checked under various parameters including the technical and commercial losses, targets achieved in purchase of power generated from renewable energy sources, demand for funds from various agencies including State Government, progress in recovery of revenues, achievement in meeting deadlines for submission of annual account reports among others.
Speaking to Star of Mysore, Munigopalraju, CESC Executive Engineer (VV Mohalla Sub Division), said that the consumers played an important role through their continuous support and co-operation. Stating that consumers must continue to extend their co-operation, he added that the CESC had been successful in stopping illegal connections and leakage of electricity apart from supplying uninterrupted electricity to the industries, IP sets and domestic connections.
Munigopalraju also said that CESC MD Kiran had taken personal interest to see that every parameter was fulfilled.
During the audit held in 2013-14, CESC stood in the 19th position at the National-level and 3rd in the State. During the audit held in 2014-15 it has reached the eighth place at the National-level and retained the third place at the State-level.
