CET from tomorrow: Police clamp prohibitory orders around all exam centres in city

Mysuru:  With the two-day CET (Common Entrance Test), conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to professional courses (Engineering, Architecture, Pharmacy, Agriculture etc.) scheduled to take place tomorrow and the day after (Apr.29 and 30), the City Police have clamped prohibitory orders under Section 35 of Karnataka Police Act, in 200 mts radius around all the 21 exam centres in city between 6 am and 6 pm on both the days.

As per the orders, barring the students and exam staff, no unauthorised person will be allowed entry to the exam centres. Also, carrying of objectionable materials to the centres has been strictly prohibited.

The Centres in city include Lakshmi Hayagreeva PU College, Dattagalli; Government PU College, Kuvempunagar; Vijaya Vittala PU College, JSS PU College, Saraswathipuram, Sarada Vilas PU College, D. Banumaiah’s PU College, SBRR Mahajana PU College, Chinmaya PU College, Maharani’s PU College and Government PU College, Vontikoppal, among others.

Also, all photocopy shops located in the vicinity of the exam centres have been asked to shut-down from 6 am to 6 pm on both the days, according to a release issued by the office of the City Police Commissioner.
