CFTRI signs MoU with JSS S&T Varsity

Mysuru: CSIR- CFTRI, an institute of research eminence in the area of food technology and diversified research capabilities headed by Dr. KSMS Raghavarao as Director, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JSS Science and Technology (JSS S&T) University, one of the youngest University under the aegis of JSS Mahavidyapeetha, on Jan.2 in the presence of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamij.

Dr. B.G. Sangameshwara, Vice-Chancellor of the University, opined that education advancement can be achieved by encouraging best practices in innovation and embracing advanced research. He also mentioned that as per the AICTE and UGC mandate, transforming Indian Universities into research centres is very important towards achieving global ranking.

Dr. Raghavarao, Director, CSIR-CFTRI, said that there is a huge potential for collaborative development in utilising the expertise of CFTRI and JSS S&T University. This will have a beneficial impact on emerging industry requirements, society in general.

The MoU was signed on a broad agreement, to work on latest technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning and its impact on detection of food adulteration, quality valuation, food process automation ad formulation of health care food and nutraceuticals. It will also enhance engagement on joint projects, workshops, faculty development programmes, etc.

Dr. Sangameshwara exchanged the MoU with Dr. Raghavarao, along with senior scientists Dr. Keshava Prakash, Dr. Chauvan, Dr. Satyendra Rao and Manilal from CFTRI.

Dr. C.G. Betsurmath, Executive Secretary, JSS Mahavidyapeetha,  Dr. K.S. Lokesh, Registrar, JSS S&T University, Dr. Mallikarjun Aradya, Dean Research,  Dr. P. Nagesh, Dr. T.N. Naghabhushan, Dr. N. Haraprasad and Dr. M. Pradeep represented the University.
