August 2, 2022

Nanjangud: Miscreants have stolen a gold mangalya chain of a woman, who was standing in a queue at Sri Srikanteshwaraswamy Temple Dasoha Bhavan in Nanjangud on July 28.

The woman, who lost her gold chain, is 58-year-old Shivalingamma, a resident of Vijayanagar 4th Stage in Mysuru.

Shivalingamma, along with other women from her neighbourhood, had gone to the temple in Nanjangud on July 28.

After having darshan of the deity, they were standing in the queue at the Dasoha Bhavan at about 1.45 pm to receive prasadam, when one of the woman, who had gone to the temple along with Shivalingamma, noticed the gold chain missing and informed Shivalingamma. Miscreants had yanked off the gold chain in the rush without Shivalingamma coming to know about it.

A case has been registered at Nanjangud Town Police Station.
