Mysuru: Chain-snatchers targeted a woman, Deepika, in front of former Corporator Babu’s residence at Alanahalli yesterday evening.

Deepika, who works at a computer centre in Siddhartha Layout and resides in Lalitha Mahal Nagar, reported that around 6:55 pm, while she was riding her scooter in front of Babu’s house, two miscreants on a bike approached from behind.

The pillion rider yanked off her gold mangalya chain, weighing 65 grams and valued at approximately Rs. 3 lakh.

Despite her cries for help, the assailants sped away, and in her shock, Deepika was unable to record the bike’s registration number. Alanahalli Police have registered a case and are currently investigating the incident.
