Chamundi Hill Temple needs regular upkeep

Sir,

The historic Chamundeshwari Temple atop Chamundi Hill is one of Mysuru’s most revered landmarks and attracts thousands of devotees, especially during the Dasara season and festivals.

It is disappointing to notice weeds and unwanted vegetation growing on the Temple Gopuram. With Dasara approaching, the authorities concerned should take immediate initiative to remove the weeds and carry out necessary cleaning and maintenance.

Such maintenance should not be undertaken only when the condition becomes serious.

Regular inspection and preventive maintenance of the Temple structure should be made a routine practice to preserve its beauty, heritage value and sanctity.

The Temple authorities must take timely action before the problem worsens and ensure that the Temple presents a clean and well-maintained appearance.
