Mysuru: The Mysuru chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will celebrate Chartered Accountants Day on July 1.
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, ICAI Mysuru Chapter President B.N. Chandrashekar said the Day will be celebrated at the ICAI auditorium in Bank Colony, Bogadi. Entrepreneur Chaya Nanjappa will inaugurate the programme at 9.30 am on July 1.
Stating that the Mysuru Chapter of ICAI came into existence in 1982 and has been functioning from its own building at Bogadi since 2003, Chandrashekar said that with the 70th ICAI Foundation Day to take place next year (2019), the ICAI Mysuru Chapter has come up with a year-long programme featuring lectures, seminars etc., ending on July 1, 2019.
Pointing out that there were over 1000 CA students enrolled at various levels, he said that the ICAI will be organising lectures, workshops and seminars on GST for Commerce lectures, as GST chapter has been included in the University curriculum.
Chandrashekar said that a 5-day workshop on GST has been organised for the benefit of students at SDM Women’s College in Krishnamurthypuram from July 1, during which the students will be given GST study materials free of cost. ICAI office-bearers S.A. Vasudeva Rao, A.V. Prakash, SDM College Principal Prof. Sainath Malligemadu and others were present at the press meet.
