Periyapatna: A 33-year old man ended his life on Friday in Periyapatna village after being allegedly cheated by his friend and scared over a bank notice. The deceased has been identified as B.B. Shivakumar of Bhootanahalli in the taluk. One Nagaraj and his son Sachin of the village had availed loan from Periyapatna Syndicate Bank in the name of B.B. Shivakumar for purchase of a car two years ago.
But even after two years, the father-son duo failed to repay the loan. Shivakumar, who received a notice from Syndicate Bank asking him to repay the loan, felt cheated and reportedly hanged himself in his residence. Following a complaint from Shivakumar’s father B.M. Basavaraj, Periyapatna Police registered the case and are investigating.
