Cheluvarayaswamy says he will patiently wait till May 23

Mandya: Expressing confidence that independent candidate Sumalatha Ambarish will win from Mandya LS seat, Congress leader and former Minister Cheluvarayaswamy has said that he will, however, wait patiently till May 23, when the results will be announced.

Speaking to media after attending a wedding at Kanaka Samudaya Bhavan in Mandya on Sunday, where he met Sumalatha Ambarish, Cheluvarayaswamy said that the fate of all the candidates has been sealed in the EVMs and the results will be known only on May 23.
Stating that most post-poll surveys are in favour of Sumalatha, he said he would, however, wait patiently for the official results.

Pointing out that Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, JD(S) Supremo and former PM H.D. Deve Gowda, Congress leader and Minister D.K. Shivakumar and a host of other JD(S) leaders had worked tirelessly for ensuring the win of coalition candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy, he said that the post-poll survey findings had brought disappointment to the CM and several other top  JD(S) leaders.

Maintaining that the election to the Mandya LS seat was a question of self-pride for local people, Cheluvarayaswamy said that actors Darshan and Yash relentlessly campaigned for Sumalatha Ambarish and he would talk more about the Mandya polls after the results are out.
