Chess Champion Sisters Dhatri and Diya feted

Mysuru: The talented chess champion sisters from Mysuru, Dhatri Umesh and Diya Umesh, were recently conferred with ‘Adarsha Yuva Pratibha Ratna’ award. The award, presented by Adarsha Seva Sangha, recognises their remarkable achievements in the field of chess over the past few years.

The award ceremony took place at Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Ashram on Nanjangud Road in city where Junior Pontiff Sri Datta Vijayananda Theertha Swamiji blessed the sisters.

Dhatri, a 12th-grade student at Expert PU College, Mangaluru, represented India at the World Youth Chess Championship in Dubai last year. Diya, a 6th-grade student at National Public School, Mysuru, is a national-level player who represented Karnataka at the Nationals in Bhubaneswar.
